This was the second time we have seen U2 in concert, last time was at Earls Court during the Elevation tour. We had never been to a U2 stadium gig before and after the sucess of Zoo and Pop were hoping to be amazed. Unfortunalty we left the gig unimpressed with the overall performance.
As with the other reviews from people sat in the stands the sound was off, we did not get the crisp sound that we experienced before. It was difficult to hear what Bono was saying in between songs and at points, especially during the opening Vertigo, even he seemed to be struggling to hear the band.
The atmosphere was still good but again not as good as Earls Court. Considering Bono was flying home to see his father every night during the Elevation tour, on Sat night we did not see the energy and emotion that we saw before.
I fully support Bono and his efforts to make Poverty history, but when you have paid $40 for your membership then £70 + fee for your seat and £15 for a brochure is seems a bit hypocritcal.
Overall a great day out Athlete were great, once the sun set the graphics were amazing. Nice to see Zoo etc and shame about the the 10.30 curfew.
