"It's a trap when you agree to being one person because when you step out of character with that, you look like a hypocrite."

WOW!! After the euphoria of the previous night which absolutely blew me away, The band only did it again!

We got to the ground at 10am and spent the rest of the day slowly frying in the 30+ degree heat, but boy was it worth it! We managed to get down to the b-stage where Larry would be bashing the drum for 'Love and Peace' and we stayed there for the rest of the day/night. I was trying not to let slip to the wife about what songs to expect to hear. She knew the core of the set allready (well, who don't?) but as soon as 'Vertigo' had finished, I was thrown off the scent when 'All Because Of You' kicked in!

Normal service then resumed compared with Saturday.

When 'I Still...' started I was expecting 'All I Want' (a song that means so much to us) to follow, when suddenly, 'Who's Gonna Ride' began! Where the hell did that come from? I was back at Earls Court in 92!!

The show never let up and it was full of further surprises with the odd snippets of past songs and snippets from other artists songs.

My personal favourite from both nights, was the return of 'ZOO Station'. I've heard some versions of this from other shows on the tour, but to see Bono goose stepping and turning back into The Fly, really makes this song work over a decade after the world was taken over by it.

There is no other way that the 'Achtung' songs can be sung.

'With Or Without You' was the last surprise of the night. Or so I thought. Vertigo #2 was expected, but to end the 2 nights in London with London Calling (The Clash) was the perfect end to what was the perfect weekend.

Unfortunately, this will be my last Vertigo show. I'll have to wait patiently for the DVD to come out so I can try and go back and capture the atmoshpere in my living room.

So, until the next tour.....
